Smithfield Prod seeks to build a rewarding environment for all its employees through a series of motivational actions like summer party, Xmass party, volunteering projects through our CSR strategy, or long term Internal Recognition Program as the Employee of the Month and the Employee of the Year Program.

"EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH" program

By this individual award deemed for all employees, Smithfield Prod intends to recognize and reward employees' performance, to celebrate success and to drive personal touch in every-day activity.

Here we have the 2008 winners.

May 2008 winner
Mr. Catuna Simion from the Production department, de-boning area, was designated the employee for May 2008.
The reasons were: the short time he became a de-boner, thoroughness and responsibility in his work as well as the availability of helping his colleagues and undertaking additional tasks
Mr. Catuna told us:
"I keep this TV in an honor place in my home"

June 2008 Winner
Mr. Raduti Vasile from the Production department, slaughtering section, was assigned Employee of June 2008.
We were all impressed by the fact that Mr. Raduti was democratically nominated by the entire slaughtering team for his loyalty towards the company (he has been working for the company for almost 5 years now), for his responsible attitude towards his work, and for his availability of taking up additional tasks without supervision.
"I am happy that my section got this award! I am very happy for the ceremony organized to award me. It is a great pleasure to be able to say that you were awarded the TV and the diploma"

July 2008 winner
Mr. Handra Ion from the rendering department was assigned Employee of July 2008.
Mr. Handra is not only a trustworthy person, with initiative, responsibly undertaking his daily tasks, but also an example of positive attitude for his colleagues within the same department but from other departments as well.
"I am happy with the TV reward, but I am happier with its meaning for me. I am happy that our CEO gave me this award!"

September 2008 Winner
Mr. Popa Gabriel from the Technical Department was elected Employee of September
Gabi has worked within the slaughterhouse ever since the initial modernization phase, participating effectively to the start-up and the maintenance of the operational process. He had an important contribution to the start-up of the slaughterhouse on the 1st of November 2006 (together with Stork MPS team). He is a respected colleague and an appreciated professional. He is actively involved in the necessary technical operations for the proper operation of the Slaughtering Line equipment and of the overall slaughtering process.
"I always did my best at the job, but now I feel I am appreciated and rewarded"

October 2008 Winner
The employee for the month of October was elected Mr. Cristian Caracoancea from the Financial Department. Cristi took over in a short period of time various new cost control activities and has them diligently completed. He has also been a real support for the colleagues who joined our costs team. His tasks are extremely important, affecting 80% of the costs of the company. He initiated the collaboration with the IT Department to improve and automate the process of preparing classification reports.

November 2008 Winner
Mr. Gabriel Matis from Sales department was elected "Employee of the month" for November.
Gabi has joined the sales team at the beginning of 2007 as an order operator, collaborating with the Production, Logistics, IT and Invoicing departments to ensure order processing efficiency and their registration into the system, including the de-boning plan preparation.
The atypical and extended working schedule, his team working availability so that everything may go on well, his loyalty towards SMF, the conscientiousness of his work, perseverance and accuracy in administrating his tasks, supported us in granting the prize to Gabi this time.
"It is a surprise for me that I got this award! This award means for me the appreciation of my work, both by the managers and my colleagues. I think that I deserve it!"

December 2008 Winner
Employee of December was elected Mrs. Rodica Cretu, Production Department, De-boning.
Rodica has been working with Smithfield since 2005, proving to be a loyal employee to the company. She has constantly attained special achievements in a mainly masculine scope of activity, proving seriousness, punctuality, initiative, flexibility and very good de-boning skills.
Moreover, Rodica has a strong personality and gets involved in her colleagues' training.
"I will give this TV as a wedding present for my daughter"

This award is granted for above expectations daily results, team spirit, respect for Smithfield Prod values, and Constant initiative and tenacity to raise the bar, create new benchmarks of performance and productivity
